What We Do

Hands of Mothers (formerly known as Manos de Madres) empowers vulnerable women, children and young adults through education and economic development.

Our Approach

Hands of Mothers strives to generate prosperity, promote health, and foster peace by creating business opportunities for women and providing support in the skills needed to sustain them. We conduct foundational literacy and numeracy classes, mentor Savings and Lending Groups and fund vocational education. We provide entrepreneurship training, business coaching, micro-loans and market linkages support.

Our Impact

Hands of Mothers has assisted over 800 women to launch and sustain businesses in Honduras, South Africa, and Rwanda. With their increased income, these women and their more than 4,000 children have enjoyed improved nutrition, health, housing, and education. We have provided the tools, but the women have contributed their strength and determination.
